It was announced today by 2010 TBARA President Dave Shotsberger. that the official 2010 schedule has been released. “We’ve worked very hard to put this schedule together for 2010,” said Shotsberger. “In 2009 we visited some new tracks but also did not visit enough of our ‘bread and butter’ tracks that we have in the past. That has changed for 2010.

As has been tradition, the 2010 season will kickoff with a SpeedWeeks blitz of three consecutive nights of racing – one at Citrus County Speedway and two at New Smyrna Speedway. Other highspots for the year include return trips to Pensacola, Mobile, Concord also Lake City and Orlando have made their way back on the calendar.

Next year’s calendar is going to be very tough for drivers and teams, but we wanted to put together the absolute best schedule we could for the TBARA in 2010,” continued Shotsberger. “It is our goal to be the elite touring series in the South and this schedule is a step in the right direction.”

About

The premier pavement sprint car series in the South, and some would say in the country, the Tampa Bay Area Racing Association (TBARA) has been racing from 1973 through 2009 and is preparing for its 40th season. Known as "the ground pounders," these purpose-built pavement sprint cars are powered by fire-breathing 360 motors and piloted by some of the best drivers in the country.

Current drivers include two-time USAC Silver Crown champ Dave Steele, two-time TBARA champ Troy DeCaire, and past race winners Bo Hartley, Dude Teate, Larry Brazil Jr. and the first female to win a sprint car feature with a major touring series in the southeast, Wendy Mathis.
