For the first time ever TBARA fans that are not at the race will be able to get live updates from the scene on the Official TBARA Twitter blog. Also, fans at the event with Twitter access on their phones will be able to follow along with the additional info going out on the TBARA Twitter blog.

“Our Webmaster, Todd Michaels, has done an excellent job in setting up Twitter for live updates from race night”, said TBARA President Dave Shotsberger. “Now I can put up to the minute live info on our Twitter blog right from my Blackberry. This way fans everywhere can know exactly what is going on as the action is happening.”

To access the Official TBARA Twitter page simply go to www.TBARA.net and click on the Twitter Icon (little blue bird) that can be found in the lower right hand corner of the homepage. The information supplied on Twitter such as race results is for informational purposes only and is not official. Official results of all TBARA events can be found on the home page under the RESULTS section.

About

The premier pavement sprint car series in the South, and some would say in the country, the Tampa Bay Area Racing Association (TBARA) has been racing from 1973 through 2009 and is preparing for its 40th season. Known as "the ground pounders," these purpose-built pavement sprint cars are powered by fire-breathing 360 motors and piloted by some of the best drivers in the country.

Current drivers include two-time USAC Silver Crown champ Dave Steele, two-time TBARA champ Troy DeCaire, and past race winners Bo Hartley, Dude Teate, Larry Brazil Jr. and the first female to win a sprint car feature with a major touring series in the southeast, Wendy Mathis.
