FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – The 2010 edition of SpeedWeeks came to a close for the TBARA this past weekend at Desoto Speedway and SpeedWeeks co-champions have been crowned. Up for grabs this year was a special SpeedWeeks trophy donated by GO15™.

“This year was truly one of the best SpeedWeeks we have had yet with the TBARA,” said TBARA President Dave Shotsberger. “We had Troy DeCaire and Bo Hartley split the race wins with two apiece and also Shane Butler running up front every single night. I don’t know if this beautiful trophy provided extra motivation or what, but these guys ran their tails off every night.”

With the original intent of the trophy to be awarded to the driver that amassed the most points during SpeedWeeks, this came down to a tie between Troy DeCaire and Shane Butler. It was the decision of the club board members to award both drivers and have SpeedWeeks co-champions for 2010.

“Starting the season off with a win on night one of SpeedWeeks is always huge, but to endTroy up winning two of the first four nights is amazing,” said DeCaire. “I really need to thank George Rudolph and Shawn Grimes for all of the effort and long hours they put in, Richard and Lori Martin for their endless support, and a real special thank you to Todd Schmidt who worked his butt off on the car all week for nothing more than a hand shake. And of course I would like to thank the TBARA staff and crew and all the push truck drivers because without all of them none of us would have a place to race. Rest assured, this GO15 trophy is going high up on my trophy case!”

Shane Butler was also much honored to be 2010 SpeedWeeks co-champion.

“We are very pleased on how we were able to kick things off on the right note this year and we’re positive this solid SpeedWeeks finish is just the beginning of a strong year,” said ShaneButler. “We encountered some issues throughout the week, but having the ability to be consistent with a top 4 finish each night, even overcoming the need to change the rear end the last night, is testament to the hard work put in by my crew. I would like to thank Mickey Kempgens, Jimmy Brown, Shane Miller, Mike Katz, Dick Hickernell, Steele Performance Parts, and the entire team for all of their hard work and dedication. With the success of our 2010 SpeedWeeks we would like to introduce a new sponsor – Red Fox Run Plantation. We look forward to working with them this year! As always, thanks to GO 15 for this beautiful trophy.”

About GO 15

GO 15™ and its “Metal Lubricity Technology™”, uses heat and friction to produce a thermal reaction with the metal surface being treated. This phenomenon results in a change in the chemical composition of the metal surface, creating a new metallic compound that re-surfaces or re-plates the old surface, resulting in a reduction of surface tension. This new “metal boundary surface” is now free of most microscopic depressions, irregularities and friction points. The reduction of the metal-to-metal friction results in an improvement in all the fundamental operating efficiencies. GO15™ is safe to use on any metal-to-metal friction generating applications including drill bits, generators, drive shafts, gearboxes, manual transmissions, air compressors, hydraulic systems, differentials, steam valves, and many others. If you drive a big rig, truck, SUV or automobile, do your part in helping to save the planet and start using GO 15™.
